Solar On Electrical ("SOE", "we", "us") is a solar, battery and electrical business based in Echuca, Victoria, servicing Echuca, Moama and towns across Northern Victoria and the NSW Murray. This page explains what personal information we collect through solaronelectrical.com.au, why we collect it, and what happens to it afterwards.
Many small businesses our size are exempt from the federal Privacy Act 1988. We handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) anyway, because it's the right way to run a local business people trust with their home and their power bill.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, book or answer your job — never more than that, and never for advertising purposes.
- Contact details — name, email, phone number and property address, given when you use the Quote Builder, Home Audit, Reverse Cycle calculator, the contact form, or sign up to our mailing list.
- Job details — the answers you give in each tool: roof type, power phase, daily usage, system size, battery interest, and any notes you add. We use these to size a system and work out rebate eligibility.
- Photos and documents — if you choose to upload them, switchboard photos, meter photos, roof photos, house plans or energy bills, to help us quote accurately without an extra site visit. Uploading these is always optional.
- Partly finished forms — if you start one of our quote tools and leave before submitting, we keep whatever you'd already entered (e.g. your name and email plus the step you reached), so our team can follow up rather than you having to start again from scratch.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking or advertising cookies. We don't build an ad profile of you and we don't track you across other websites. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and add a cookie notice before we do it.
How we use your information
- To prepare and send you an accurate solar, battery, reverse cycle or electrical quote.
- To work out and apply the rebates you're eligible for — federal STCs, the Solar Victoria rebate and loan, or the NSW Sustainable Home Loan.
- To contact you about your enquiry, booking or job — by phone, email or text.
- To keep records of work quoted and completed, as any business needs to.
- To send occasional updates if you've opted into our mailing list — see below.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade your information. It's shared only where it's genuinely needed to do the job:
- Formspree, a third-party form service, so your enquiry emails straight through to our team. Formspree may store form submissions on servers outside Australia.
- Rebate and scheme bodies — such as the Clean Energy Regulator, Solar Victoria, or the NSW loan administrator — only as needed to process your rebate or loan application, and only for jobs that proceed.
- Our install partners — SEC Services and AWM Echuca — where they need your address or job details to design or install your system.
Where it's stored
Enquiries are stored in a database hosted on cloud infrastructure, which may be located outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to keep it secure, and we don't publish or share your details beyond what's listed above.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and job records for as long as it's reasonably useful for warranty, follow-up and our own business records — typically several years. You can ask us to delete your details at any time; see below.
Mailing list
We only add you to the mailing list if you opt in yourself. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we handle the list in line with the Australian Spam Act 2003. Unsubscribing takes you off the list immediately.
Access, correction or deletion
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, any time — just call or email us using the details below. We'll sort it out directly, no forms required.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle your information changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
